American Guerrilla Marketing is actively expanding its national network of skilled vinyl and adhesive decal installers for advertising campaigns across the United States and internationally. Whether you’re applying graphics to polished concrete floors, storefront windows, vehicle fleets, subway walls, or retail fixtures, your precision craftsmanship directly powers brand experiences seen by millions of people.
These are freelance contractor positions built for professionals who know their way around a squeegee, understand surface prep, and can deliver bubble-free, perfectly aligned graphics under real-world campaign conditions. Our decal installer jobs are not sign-shop repetition, each activation is a unique advertising execution that demands both technical skill and situational awareness. If you take pride in clean installs and want to work with nationally recognized brands, read on.
This page covers everything: what the role actually involves, where we hire, what tools and experience you need, how scouting works, and how to apply. We keep it direct because we respect your time.
About American Guerrilla Marketing
AGM has executed thousands of street-level advertising campaigns in every major U.S. market and dozens of international cities since our founding. Our roster includes Fortune 500 brands, independent labels, film studios, nonprofits, and political organizations. We specialize in sidewalk decals and stencils, vehicle wraps and fleet graphics, and guerrilla marketing activations that generate real-world impressions and earned media coverage.
Our installers are the last mile of every campaign. We hire for skill, reliability, and professionalism, not just availability
Decal installer jobs at American Guerrilla Marketing are contract-based field positions. You’re not working in a shop, you’re working on-site at campaign locations: a downtown plaza, a parking garage, a storefront window, a transit station, or a fleet lot. Each activation is different. The common thread is vinyl and adhesive graphic media applied to real surfaces in real advertising contexts.
Typical surfaces include polished concrete floors, painted walls, plate glass windows, vehicle bodies, laminated transit panels, painted brick, and commercial signage fixtures. Installation methods span dry application, wet application, heat-assisted conforming for curved surfaces, and multi-panel alignment for large-format smooth installs.
You’ll receive graphic media files in advance, along with a campaign brief and installation spec sheet. On activation day you’re expected to arrive prepared, complete the install within the scheduled window, photograph your finished work, and report completion through our project coordinator. Cleanup and waste removal are part of the job.
This is detail-oriented, physically active work. The best installers we’ve worked with bring a craftsperson’s mentality, they care about the edge seam, the alignment, and the final photo the same way a muralist cares about the finished wall.
We hire for both local and traveling installer roles, and many contractors do both depending on the campaign.
Local installers are matched to campaigns in their home market. If you’re in Chicago, you might get three activations per quarter in the greater Chicago metro area, quick day-trip jobs with minimal logistics. Local work is ideal for installers with day jobs or family commitments who want consistent supplemental income from advertising campaigns.
Traveling installers take on multi-city national rollouts, where a single campaign might hit 10, 20, or 30 cities over several weeks. These are higher-volume engagements with travel expenses covered (flights, accommodation, per diem). Traveling installer roles require greater scheduling flexibility and the ability to work independently in unfamiliar cities with minimal supervision.
We also run hybrid campaigns where a national installer handles the primary markets and local contractors handle smaller secondary markets. If you’re open to travel but based locally, let us know, we’ll note it in your profile and reach out when multi-city work comes through your region.
We maintain active installer rosters in the following U.S. markets and are always looking to add qualified contractors:
Don’t see your city? Apply anyway. We expand into new markets regularly and maintain a database of vetted contractors we draw from when new campaigns launch.
American Guerrilla Marketing runs international campaigns for global brands and organizations. We currently hire local decal installers in these international markets:
International installers work as local contractors under the same vetting and portfolio requirements as U.S. hires. Payment is processed via international wire transfer or PayPal/Wise.
We’re looking for installers who bring genuine technical ability to every activation. Core requirements:
Preferred but not required: 3M or PDAA certification, experience with anti-graffiti overlaminate, and familiarity with floor safety standards (R-value ratings for slip resistance).
A portfolio is required to be considered. We’re not asking for a professional design portfolio, we want to see your installs. Phone photos are fine. What we’re looking for:
A Google Drive folder, Dropbox link, or simple photo gallery URL is all we need. Instagram works too if your feed includes installation work. No install photos = no interview. This is non-negotiable, it protects the quality of every campaign we run.
We hire from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Installers who have thrived in this role typically come from:
We do not require formal employment history, freelancers, sole proprietors, and independent contractors are welcome. We do conduct reference checks for installers taking on high-value campaigns, and we ask all new contractors to complete one probationary installation job before being added to the primary roster.
Background checks are required for certain client campaigns, particularly those involving access to retail stores, transit facilities, or corporate properties. We’ll notify you in advance if a check is required for a specific job.
One of the things that separates professional advertising decal installers from general contractors is the ability to pre-scout an installation site before activation day. We consider this a core competency, and for multi-day or high-stakes campaigns, we pay separately for scouting work.
What to assess during a pre-scout:
On installation day itself, always re-check surface condition before opening any material. A surface that looked fine at the scout can have changed, wet from rain, re-coated, dusty from construction, or marked with chalk. A five-minute condition check before you lay down the first panel prevents hours of rework.
Document your scout with photos and a brief written note submitted to your project coordinator. This protects you if something goes wrong and helps the team adjust materials or timing if needed.
Decal installer jobs at AGM are compensated on a per-project or hourly basis, depending on campaign scope:
All contractors receive a written scope of work and payment agreement before any job begins. We do not ask installers to absorb material or travel costs without prior written approval. Invoices are submitted through our project management system and processed weekly.

We review applications on a rolling basis. If your profile matches an upcoming campaign in your market, a coordinator will reach out within 1–2 business days. We maintain all applications in our installer database and pull from it whenever a new campaign opens in your region, applying now means you’ll be considered for future activations even if we’re not hiring in your market immediately.
We offer freelance contractor positions for vinyl and adhesive decal installation on floors, walls, vehicles, storefronts, transit surfaces, and more, all in service of advertising campaigns for brands and agencies.
Both local and traveling roles are available. Some campaigns require multi-city or national travel, while others are single-market activations. We match installers with campaigns based on location and availability.
You should own or have access to a squeegee set, heat gun, surface prep sprays, tape measure, and application fluid for wet installs. We provide all graphic media and campaign-specific materials.
Rates typically range from $25–$75/hour depending on surface complexity, campaign scale, and experience level. Day-rate and project-rate options are also available.
Not necessarily. Hands-on vinyl installation experience is the primary requirement. We welcome applicants from sign shops, vehicle wrapping studios, and general graphics installation backgrounds.
Email [email protected] with your name, city, availability, and a link to your portfolio or photos of previous work. Include “Decal Installer, [Your City]” in the subject line.
Yes. We run campaigns in London, Tokyo, Mexico City, and other international markets. Installers located in those cities are encouraged to apply using the same process.
