May 21, 2026 Careers & Hiring, Guerrilla Marketing Agency
By Justin Phillips, AGM Campaign Director | Published May 2026 | Updated May 2026
AGM has run 500+ street-level poster campaigns across 50 U.S. markets since 2014. Every placement is GPS-tagged and independently verifiable.
American Guerrilla Marketing runs targeted door hanger campaigns for local businesses and national brands. We coordinate residential and commercial routes in markets across the country, and we need distributors who can cover those routes efficiently and document their work properly. If you can follow a map, handle outdoor conditions, and submit clean photo records at the end of a shift, there is a place for you on our field crews.
Why Trust This Posting
American Guerrilla Marketing has coordinated field crews in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and dozens of additional markets. Our team manages campaigns for national brands and independent local businesses alike. Livy Phillips, our Campaign Architect, builds and oversees the distributor and field crew networks behind our work. She reviews every application personally.
This posting is written for people who want real work in field marketing. No inflated promises, no vague pay ranges. Just what the job is, what we expect, and how to reach us.
Door hanger distribution is physical marketing. You receive a stack of printed pieces, a defined route, and a deadline. Your job is to hang those pieces on the correct doors, keep an accurate count of what you place, and submit photo documentation confirming the work was done. That is the core of it.
It sounds straightforward, but doing it well requires more than most people expect. You are walking five to twelve miles per shift, often in heat or cold, navigating residential streets and sometimes commercial corridors, and keeping counts that feed directly into client reports. Sloppy work shows up immediately. Good work gets you booked for the next campaign and, eventually, crew lead roles on larger operations.
AGM manages campaign logistics: printing, mapping, client communication, and scheduling. We need you to handle the last mile. If you show up on time, follow the route accurately, and document correctly, you will have consistent work across our active markets.
We work with clients in real estate, restaurants, home services, retail, and entertainment. Campaign sizes range from a few hundred doors to tens of thousands across multiple zip codes. Distributors who perform well on smaller runs move up to larger campaigns and supervisory opportunities.
We hire two types of distributors. Local distributors work in their home market on a campaign-by-campaign basis. Traveling distributors move between cities to support national rollouts or markets where we have a short-term need and no local crew available yet.
Local distributors typically work part-time or on a per-project schedule. They know their neighborhoods well, which means faster execution and fewer navigation problems. They are ideal for recurring local clients who run campaigns in the same territory on a regular cycle.
Traveling distributors should expect to be away from home for three to ten days at a time. You cover multiple markets in sequence, sometimes on short notice. AGM arranges and covers travel logistics, lodging, and daily per diem. You need reliable transportation to your departure point and a flexible schedule.
Both types work as independent contractors. You set your own availability within campaign windows, submit invoices at the end of each job, and handle your own transportation to route start points. AGM provides materials, routing files, and client deliverables.
We run active campaigns in the markets below and are looking for distributors who can cover them consistently. If your city is not listed, reach out anyway. We build out new markets regularly based on client demand.
AGM coordinates select campaigns outside the United States. International distribution requires additional lead time, local knowledge of solicitation regulations, and in most cases a local coordinator on the ground. If you have field distribution experience in any of the markets below, we want to hear from you.
This is physical, outdoor work. Here is what you need to do it well:
The best distributors scout their routes before arriving. This does not take long, and it saves real time during the actual campaign run.
Digital Pre-Scouting
Before you arrive in a neighborhood, spend fifteen minutes on Google Maps satellite view. Look for these things:
Day-Of Scouting
When you arrive at the route start, do a quick visual pass before pulling materials from your bag:
We ask that applicants with prior distribution experience submit a basic portfolio with their application. It does not need to be elaborate. What we are looking for:
We do not require a specific work history. People who perform well in this role tend to come from delivery, landscaping, canvassing, postal routes, moving, construction labor, or event staffing. The common thread is comfort working outdoors, physical stamina, and the ability to manage themselves on a route without needing constant check-ins.
If you have prior experience with another distribution company, a marketing agency, or a franchise that ran neighborhood campaigns, mention it specifically. We know most of the major operators and can read what your past work actually involved. If you have none of that background, be direct about where you are coming from. We assess fit based on what you have done, not just whether your resume has the right job titles.
Pay rates vary by market, campaign type, and volume. Local distributors are typically paid per campaign or per thousand doors placed. Rates are confirmed before you accept any assignment. There is no unpaid trial work and no last-minute changes to agreed numbers after you have started a shift.
Traveling distributors receive base campaign pay plus reimbursement for approved travel: flights or mileage, lodging booked through AGM, and a daily per diem for meals. You will not be expected to front significant out-of-pocket costs for traveling campaigns.
Payment is issued by invoice on a net-7 basis after campaign completion and documentation verification. First-time distributors are paid upon verification of the first campaign. Repeat contractors with a clean track record move to a faster payment cycle as the relationship develops.
Send your application to [email protected]. Include the following:
We review applications on a rolling basis and respond within 3 to 5 business days. If there is an immediate opening in your market, turnaround may be faster. If no current campaign is running in your area, we add you to the active pool and reach out when something opens up.
Do I need experience to apply for door hanger distribution jobs?
No prior experience is required. We look for reliability, physical fitness, and the ability to follow route instructions and document work with photos. If you have done delivery, canvassing, postal work, or any outdoor labor, that background is worth mentioning in your application.
Is this a full-time or part-time position?
We hire for both. Local distributors often work part-time or on a per-campaign basis. Traveling distributors can build toward a full-time schedule by taking campaigns across multiple markets in sequence. Availability and scheduling are discussed before each individual campaign.
What cities does American Guerrilla Marketing operate in?
We run campaigns across the U.S. including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Columbus, and many others. We also operate in select international markets including London, Tokyo, and Mexico City. If your city is not listed above, contact us anyway.
How do I document my work during distribution?
You submit geotagged photos of completed doors throughout each route. We provide specific guidance on photo frequency and format at the start of each campaign. A smartphone with a working camera is required. Documentation quality is part of how your work is evaluated.
Do I need a car to work as a door hanger distributor?
Reliable transportation is required for most routes. Some dense urban routes can be completed on foot, but you still need to get yourself and your materials to the route start point. For traveling campaigns, AGM arranges flights and lodging, but you handle transportation to and from your local departure point.
How much can I earn distributing door hangers?
Pay is confirmed before you accept any assignment. Rates vary by market and campaign volume. Traveling distributors receive base campaign pay plus covered travel expenses, lodging, and a daily per diem for meals. There is no unpaid trial work.
How do I apply for a door hanger distribution job?
Email [email protected] with your name, city, availability, and any relevant experience. We review applications on a rolling basis and respond within 3 to 5 business days.
